Diverse. Inclusive. Equitable. Sustainable.

Kai Stowers is fascinated by the ways our myriad social identities interplay to create workplace cultures, systems, and structures. His journey includes growing up in a majority Hispanic community, working in STEM as a female, and navigating the world as a white, queer, trans man.

As a hockey player, he often compares intercultural competence to fitness. If we prioritize skills like stickhandling at the expense of fitness, we’ll look great standing still, but we’ll lack the endurance and strength to change the game’s outcome.

Similarly, organizations and leaders that focus on making change without deepening their capacity to understand and bridge differences will implement policies and programs that look good on paper but fail to achieve their stated outcomes.

Kai works with individuals and organizations who won’t settle for checking the box when it comes to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Three pillars of DEI - Structural Change, Capacity and Skill Building, Programming

Structural Change

The systems, structures, and policies of an organization determine human behavior and outcomes. Kai and his partners collaborate closely with you to identify the structural changes that embed diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the organization.

Capacity and Skill Building

Inclusive leadership is an increasingly sought after capacity, yet most leaders have never received formal training or coaching in this area. We offer coaching, team workshops, and ongoing development to close the gap between where you are and where you want to be.

Programming

In close collaboration with you,  we develop and implement programming that drives sustainable results.  From ERGs and mentorship programs and beyond, we have you covered.

Change Frameworks

Our work is guided by individual and organizational change frameworks that allow us to identify the most effective place to begin our work. We rely on adult learning theory, organization development and intercultural competence frameworks, coaching, and a mindful, compassionate approach to get you where you want to be.
